Are you looking for a designer that's driven by curiosity, creativity, and empathy? Look no further.
Jerad is the real deal. He’s as smart as anyone I’ve ever encountered and a student of creativity and design.
Jason Walker, Creative Director at Covenant Eyes
I've been solving complex problems for 18 years and counting
I am an experience designer with nearly two decades of work in various domains, such as industrial and medical interfaces, websites, commercial applications, e-commerce, dashboards, and bespoke enterprise software. I have collaborated with agencies, industry leaders, Fortune 100 companies, international brands, and non-profits. My goal is to challenge and transform old systems that are complex, frustrating, and sometimes dangerous for users. I achieve this by designing intuitive, helpful, and safe systems that can empower and augment people.

Still here? Aren't you the curious one. I like that.
Tools that I know like the back of my hand
Here’s the story about how I became (and why I remain) wrapped around Design’s little finger…
Chapter 1: Pixelated Beginnings
I grew up in a small country town full of fireflies and whippoorwills—and not much else. That’s where I discovered my love for design, through storytelling. My dad and grandpa wove captivating tales 💬—their words painting vivid landscapes in my young mind. Those stories, combined with a healthy dose of '80s and '90s pop-culture, ignited my creative spark ⚡. Little did I know that these humble beginnings would lead me to a world of pixels and possibilities.
Chapter 2: The Quest for Clarity
Design, for me, is like telling an enthralling story. I seek that elusive "through line"—the golden thread 🪡 that weaves clarity into chaos. Whether it's choosing the right words for an error message or crafting an intuitive interaction to accentuate an experience, I explore every composition. Finding the perfect solution to a challenge is what fuels my love of design.
Chapter 3: The Design Alchemist
My design philosophy, refined and polished over the course of my career, is about transforming complexity into elegance. I'm the alchemist who turns clunky interfaces into sleek symphonies. Simplicity, empathy, and a dash of rebellious spirit guide my wand (okay, stylus 🖋️). I challenge the status quo, one pixel at a time, breaking molds—and outdate assumptions—along the way.
Chapter 4: The Eclectic Blend
My style is expansive and diverse. My wanderlust has led me around the globe, gathering inspiration from far reaching destinations and cultures. This sense of adventure and deep curiosity has shaped my style into an eclectic blend of minimalism and maximalism. One day, I rock a monochrome palette and a Neo-grotesque font; the next, I channel a neon rave and Cooper Black (typography nerd alert!). It’s all about knowing the right tool for the job.
Chapter 5: Beyond Pixels
When I'm not pushing pixels, I'm a curator of chaos:
-
Pet Whisperer: My zoo includes two cats, two dogs, four amphibians, fifteen fish, and thirty invertebrates. Cloud, my furry sidekick, and I discuss design trends over breakfast.
-
Plant Shaman: Fifty potted plants 🪴 call me dad. Bonsai trees perch on my windowsill, whispering ancient secrets. I swear they nod in approval when I nail a design.
-
Wanderlust Nomad: My wife and I collect national parks like Pokémon cards. Twenty and counting. Each trail holds a story—the rustle of leaves, the scent of pine, and the thrill of discovery.
-
D&D Dungeon Master: Friends across time zones gather around virtual tables 🎲. Dragons, intrigue, and epic quests unfold. I'm the bard, spinning tales of pixelated heroes.
So there you have it—the chronicles of a design alchemist ⚗️. If you're up for a chat about kerning, obscure movie references, or the best pizza place in town, drop me a line. Let’s create magic together! 🌟🎨✨
